Nine games have been played so far in the 2018 College World Series, and Thursday’s Game 10, will feature a Bracket 2 matchup between the Florida Gators and Texas Tech Red Raiders, at 8 p.m. ET on ESPNU.
Florida won its elimination-bracket game on Tuesday against the Texas Longhorns 6-1, to advance to Thursday’s game. The Gators snagged four runs in the sixth inning against the Longhorns, thanks to a three-run hit by Jonathan India. Texas kept things close with eight hits on the day, but the Gators’ fielding proved too much for them to rack up more than one run.
Texas Tech is coming off a 7-4 loss to Arkansas on Wednesday — after a several-hour rain delay. The Razorbacks had the Red Raiders number all afternoon, starting with two runs in their first at-bat, and Texas Tech not earning a run until the fifth inning.
This won’t be the first time Florida and Texas Tech will face each other in this year’s tournament, with the Red Raiders claiming a win on Day 2, sending the Gators to the elimination bracket. The game was full of drama, but thanks to some impressive catches in left field, Texas Tech ended the night game with a 6-3 win.
